Trooping the Colour 13th June 2015.
The annual Queen's Birthday Parade, where marching bands and serving soldiers parade for the Queen whilst the Colour trooped on Horse Guards Parade.
The Carriage Processions made their way along The Mall. Amongst the Royal Family in the carriages this year were the
Duchesses of Cornwall, Cambridge and Gloucester, and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
On the Buckingham Palace Balcony to watch the flypast -(sadly only the Red Arrows this year due to low cloud), making his first appearance was Prince George of Cambridge, cradled in his fathers arms. Wearing a blue romper suit that Prince William had also worn to his first Troopng in 1984, and I suspect it was one also worn by Prince Charles in official Cecil Beaton photos in 1950.
The Queen was surrounded by her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. She and Prince Philip had Viscount Severn and Lady Louise Windsor (the children of the Earl and Countess of Wessex who were absent as they were in Sweden for a Royal Wedding), and the Kent and Gloucester cousins and their families gathered alongside.
Leaving the Palace, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and Lord and Lady Nicholas Windsor acknowledged the band playing
'God Save the Queen'
It was I think one of the best Trooping's of recent years - and how i ever got a place again at the front of the Buckingham Palace railings I do not know!!
