London welcomed Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander & Queen Maxima to London at the start of a two day visit.

Following their private arrival the day before, on Tuesday 22nd October the formal welcome took part on Horse Guards Parade followed by a Carriage Procession to Buckingham Palace. As it was Autumn, traditionally its closed carriages, so the views of the Royals is lessened! However its still a great example of Pomp and Pagentry to witness. The Dutch King travelled with HM The Queen, and behind them The Dutch Queen with The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall.

The Mall was bedecked in the Union Jack and Dutch Flag as crowds braved the October tempertures to wave them on.
Members of both Royal Households braved the open carriages to wave to the crowds!

Also spotted amongst The Mounted Band of the Household Cavalry, was Richard Jones, the serving  soldier who won Britain's Got Talent in 2016 with his Magic skills.

After lunch at the Palace, the King and Queen, travelling in the Queen's State Bentley (flying the Dutch Royals Standard) travelled to Westminster Abbey.

The King and Queen were delightful and took time to wave to crowds on their arrival and departure.
